Clyde North Campus News

This year’s Harmony Day afforded us the wonderful opportunity to listen, learn, and celebrate.
The Piazza, as always, became a canvas of colour and culture, filled with the magnificent array of traditional dress worn by students and staff. The vibrancy of each outfit told its own story, showcasing the unique cultural backgrounds and traditions that make up our school. The energy was infectious, and there was a palpable sense of pride in the air as we celebrated what makes us different, yet united.
The theme of this year’s Harmony Day—‘Everyone Belongs’—was more than just a slogan. It was a message that we experienced in real terms throughout the day. But as we reflect on the celebrations, it becomes clear that the true message of Harmony Day is not confined to a single event. It is a reminder that every day should be a celebration of community, united by faith, cultural diversity, and a genuine love and respect for one another.
Once again, the VCE VM students captivated our taste buds with their culinary delights, showcasing foods from around the world. The delicious dishes were a true reflection of the cultures we were celebrating, and, as always, each staff member’s dish quickly sold out! The sense of excitement was palpable, and the shared enjoyment of food brought us all closer together, allowing us to taste the diversity that makes our school community so special.
In true Harmony Day fashion, the annual staff vs. Year 12 students’ basketball match provided both entertainment and a healthy dose of competitiveness. The match was full of action, courage, and excitement, but in the end, there could only be one winner—this year, the staff triumphed! Congratulations to all players for their sportsmanship and energy.
For many of us, the highlight of the day was the student performances of traditional dance, which showcased the beauty and vibrancy of various cultures. We were treated to stunning performances representing Mauritian, Sri Lankan, Indian, Punjabi, African, and Samoan traditions. Each performance was a testament to the richness of these cultures and the talent of our students. However, there was no doubt that the crowd favourite was the staff's Indian dance, led by the ever-energetic Ms. Joseph. The fun and inspiring performance had everyone on their feet, clapping and cheering. It was a perfect example of the unity and joy that Harmony Day brings to our community.
Harmony Day encouraged us to come together in appreciation of our differences, while also recognizing that our shared humanity binds us all. Let us carry this spirit forward, not just on Harmony Day, but in our daily interactions, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we create a stronger, more compassionate world.
To all students and staff, thank you for providing such joy on another beautiful Harmony Day where everyone did belong.
International Women’s Day
We always acknowledge this important day and support students to gain a richer understanding and appreciation. However this year a very special event took place as the male staff demonstrated their support of the female colleagues and the essence of International Women’s Day by providing a delicious morning tea. A big thank you!
I wish you all a safe and productive week.
