From our Principal

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Happy Harmony Day
This was the sentiment expressed openly and freely this week as we celebrated Harmony Day 2025. It is one of the signature calendared events each year at St Peter’s as it provides a perfect opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate cultural diversity. The theme of Harmony day is “Everyone Belongs” and it provides us with an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the uniqueness of the individual and the collective as we come together as a diversified but unified community.
Without a shadow of a doubt the highlights of the day were the cultural dances and the sharing of cultural food delights. We are blessed at St Peter’s to be part of a wonderful community made up of many cultures and to be able to witness the joy on the faces of participants as well as the audience was a real blessing. In my Principal’s address I spoke of a real sense of pride when a prospective parent or teacher asks the following question, “what do you like about St Peter’s College?” Without hesitation I say it is the community. A community made up of many cultures and many faiths living in harmony with each other. At the very core of the harmony created in our community is our students. Many visitors speak of the feeling of welcome when entering St Peter’s. Again, I proudly state that this emanates from our students who as a collective are part of a connected community.
Yet the way we create community should not be taken for granted. As such I challenged students this week to utilise our acronym ROCKS to nourish the sense of community in their everyday thoughts and actions to ensure the theme, “Everyone Belongs” is lived out every day at St Peter’s. This can be achieved by:
R – With our responsibility to be Respectful this calls on each of us to be respectful of ALL.
O – With our responsibility to be Organised this calls on each of us to organised and intentional about including all.
C – With our responsibility to Collaborate this calls on each of us to welcome others to the collaborative table.
K – With our responsibility to be Kind this calls on each of us to be caring of others.
S – With our responsibility to be safe this calls on us to always, in every circumstance, act in safe manner with those around us.
May every day be one filled with Harmony at St Peter’s College.
