From the Principal

It was during a Year 12 Principal’s Lunch with the soon-to-be graduating Year 12 Class of 2023 that the idea of a tutoring program involving graduated students was seeded. The response to the question about whether students might find such a program useful was salient, ‘we would have used it, but you will need to sound out the Year 11s to see whether they would.’
I am pleased to report that the Homework Club and Tutoring Program is now fully implemented and being well utilised by a broad range of students. Available for Secondary students every Monday to Thursday, from 3:30pm to 6pm in the Ignatius Centre Library are specialist supports including:

Academic Tutors are available until 6pm to support our Secondary students as required and I extend my thanks to the teaching staff who so generously volunteer their time to also provide our students with additional academic support.
We also commend our College’s swimming team, who won the ACC A-Division Carnival on Wednesday. What an exceptional achievement! Thanks are extended to Head of Sport, Jessica Pillera, Assistant to Head of Sport, Darren Kowal, and all of the PE staff who supported our team so well in their preparations leading up to the carnival day and during the day itself. It was a privilege to witness the John XXIII College spirit so alive and well throughout the carnival, and I particularly commend all of our swimmers and make special mention of those who were courageous enough to swim in older age groups to support swimmers who could not compete due to illness. Bravo!
