Wellbeing Sticks and Stones Incursion

Labreni Pappas

On Friday the 1st of March our students attended a performance of ‘Sticks & Stones’ by Brainstorm Productions. Brainstorm Productions is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected educational theatre companies, reaching more than 260 000 students each year with their anti-bullying, cyber-safety, and student wellbeing programs. Here are some comments from our students about the show:

‘I liked learning about how to calm down when we are feeling angry.’ Dom T. PC

‘I liked the actors because they were really talented. I learnt that you should not be a bully or hurt others.’ Levi Sl. 2B

‘I really liked how the characters at the end became friends. I learnt that even if you are angry the best thing to do is just breathe, walk away, and calm down.’ Clara S. 3D

‘I learnt about how to take deep breaths and put my fists in my pockets when I get frustrated. I also learnt to be safe online.’ Sascha L. 4B

‘I liked knowing that it’s important to have a friend by your side. I think the play was really inspirational and was really honest about what can happen in the yard. It taught me to not let out anger in an aggressive way. Amelia B.5B

‘I learnt that you need to be supervised by an adult when you are online to keep you safe.’ Davina S. 6A

‘Don’t let others make you feel bad about yourself and always try and look on the bright side.’ Freya H. 6A
