Languages Faculty

 It is incredibly hard to believe that we have now reached the end of Term 1. The calendar has already been a crowded one with our combined Year 11 and 12 Ancient and Extension History excursion to Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs Exhibition at the Australian Museum.

Year 11 and 12 Geography fieldwork excursions, Year 11 Legal Studies Mock Trial Competition and Year 9 Fieldwork. The HSIE Faculty understands the value of these experiences to students, and we are heartened by the excellent behaviour we see from all when out in the community. 

Year 10 students will be going to the Sydney Jewish Museum on Friday 3 May 2024. This excursion is designed to support their study of Genocide and the Holocaust. The cohort will have an information session with the museum’s education officers, hear survivor testimony, and visit the exhibition space. Students get so much from this excursion and its vital that the online permission and payment is made as soon as possible.

Huge thanks to the amazing HSIE and Language team for all their hard work this term – Mr Allanson, Mr Ardley, Miss Ellis, Mr Herring, Mrs Kostalas, Miss McLennan, Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Travica. Thank you to our students who have been thoroughly engaged in lessons, preparing for assessment and doing their personal best.
