Harmony Day

We had a great day celebrating inclusiveness and belonging. 🧡Harmony Day🧡

On Thursday the 21st of March it was Harmony Day, a day to celebrate diversity and everyone’s culture. Everyone around Australia has celebrated since 1999 but this year, we think Eltham North did it best with a heap of orange clothing and cultural outfits from a variety of countries.

Our Wellbeing Leaders Lily, Lou, Levi and Molly did a great job at running the day with Mrs Tucker. So we interviewed all of them and got their perspective on what was going on. They all agreed it was fun but stressful planning and organising all term leading up to the day but it was worth it for the result as everyone seemed to enjoy the day. A lot of great outfits were worn, but here are the wellbeing leaders favourites. Molly’s eye was caught on a boy who had orange hair, an an orange shirt and fluorescent orange coloured shorts. Levi got caught on a girls costume as she wore an orange feather scarf with orange star glasses, an orange shirt, nails and face painted hearts. Lou liked the outfit with an orange jumpsuit and hat. Lily fancied all the kids wearing orange tutus!

The scavenger hunts were big hits for the prep to year 2 students. The older students on the other hand didn’t show much interest in the activity. Overall seeing everyone’s costumes and smiles filled our harmony day with happiness and joy!

In conclusion it was an amazing day and a special well done to Mrs. Tucker and the wellbeing leaders Molly, Levi, Lily and Lou for hosting an absolutely outstanding celebration of different diversities.
