Principal's message

Heavenly Father,

May the blessings of the Risen Lord this Easter period, fill our hearts with joy.

Help us to experience the  power of your love, renewing our spirits and strengthening our faith.

As we celebrate together, may the message of Easter resonate deeply within us, inspiring us to live as reflections of your grace and compassion.

Amen.

Dear Parents and Guardians

Welcome to Term 2!

Maintenance works

Over the holidays we were able to have our storm water problem  near the hall fixed.

We should have no more flooding into the hall during those very heavy rain episodes we have been experiencing in  recent times.

The carpet tiles are due to be replaced on Friday.

Several roof leaks were also resolved over the break.

Sensory Room

Our sensory room fit has been completed.

This is located in the tree house room in the Foundation building. It has been designed to create a nurturing, calm and focused environment that supports learning and emotional development, where our students can self-regulate quickly and efficiently.

In the words of one of our children today as they entered the room, " This is my dream, it is everything I have ever wanted......It's amazing."

Eucharist and Confirmation

Our children have completed their second week of preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Our sessions are held each Monday afternoon.

The date for the Sacraments is Saturday May 25th at 4.00 pm in Our Lady's Church, 102 Murdoch Road Wangaratta with Bishop Shane McKinley and Father Nathan.

Reintroduction of the Parents and Friends

Last year we participated in the National School Improvement Tool.

The NSIT Review is specifically designed to equip principals, boards and staff with the data needed to plot their school’s current position against international effective practice and to plan a focused approach to school improvement appropriate to the context of their school.

A key element of this was the collection of data and feedback from parents.

A recommendation from this report was to further "Recognise the value of parents as partners in education... This would include the re-establishment and re-defining of the purpose of the P&F within the school."

At our  School Advisory Council meeting  last term, it was agreed to act on this recommendation.

We invite all interested parents to a  meeting  next Tuesday 23rd April at 6.00 pm  in the School Staffroom to  join other parents as we re-ignite the P&F.

ANZAC day Liturgy will be held on 24th April at 2.45 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Our Mother's day Mass will be held on Friday May 10th  at 9:30 am in the hall.  Everyone is welcome.

Staffing

We welcome Leeanne Butler  to our staff.

Leeanne is working in our grade five and six area  to support Literacy Learning and to deliver Digital Technology  to all of our students.

We welcome Georgia Bettio in the grade one and two area.

Thank you to the 50 parents that completed the survey for Stacey Lamb's Teaching Innovation Fellowship.

She is coming towards the end of the fellowship and has gathered some really pleasing data results.

The winner of the $50- Wangaratta Quality Gateway voucher for completing the survey was Sarah Snowdon.

Have a great week everyone
