Planning for 2025 is underway. The College is preparing to deliver the best possible curriculum to support the development of personal and social capabilities. In order to ensure effective child safety practices are established within the College, students need to achieve personal learning growth and experience success, through exposure to high-quality teaching practices within safe and inclusive environments.
The College upholds the primacy of the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, empowering families, children, young people, and staff to have a voice and raise concerns, whilst implementing rigorous risk-management and employment practices. Our mission is to teach positive mental health strategies to help people become happier and more resilient and have agency about their mental health.
Currently, the College is investigating partnerships with outside agencies to help work with staff, students, and parents. The research is clear; the more positive emotion you experience, the more resilient you will be.
For that reason, the College hopes to focus on three key pillars proven to cultivate positive emotion; Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM). Positive mental health in the classroom, staffroom and the wider community helps young people thrive emotionally. More information will be provided within the ensuing newsletters, about which chosen partnership the College will engage with. We will continue to deliver The Resilience project in 2025 and run the program across all six-year levels.
New Uniform Guidelines
The College has been working through the consultation process of developing new uniform guidelines. Two new features which require your attention are:
1. The uniform at MMCRC will now be a twelve-month-a-year uniform. This allows for students to wear uniforms commensurate with the weather being experienced.
2. A breach system is being proposed for removable and non-removable items
This week I sent a message via PAM to look at the new uniform guidelines for 2025.
Please look at these guidelines and send any responses to jryan@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au
