Top Arts Shortlist
The Art staff are incredibly excited to announce that we have had 2 of our 2024 Year 12 Art Creative Practice students shortlisted for the state wide Top Arts exhibition held annually at the National Gallery of Victoria. Bridgette C and Jack K both have had their final artworks shortlisted. This is an incredible achievement and will be an inspiration for our art students for years to come. We are so proud of both students and the hard work they put into their folios this year.
We can't wait to see all of the creative adventures our many art and design graduates go on to have!
Bridgette's art piece is a short film in which she is the actress, it deals with themes surrounding feminist ideas and gender stereotypes, particularly unrealistic beauty standards and harmful patriarchal social structures. Bridgette is hoping to go on to study graphic design at RMIT next year.
Jack's work is a 360 degree landscape drawing of a Seaford street including a self portrait, to be viewed in Virtual Reality. It is accompanied by a voice recording of Jack's memories relating to this location. This work deals with themes surrounding location, identity and a personal connection to a sense of place. Jack is hoping to go on to study Architecture at the University of Melbourne next year.
RMIT Fine Arts
Congratulations to Year 12 Art Creative Practice Student Ned C who has been offered a place at RMIT University next year doing a Fine Art Degree majoring in Drawing. We can't wait to see what incredible things you will learn, create and achieve at Art School Ned!
