School Sport Victoria (SSV) Events
SSV Eureka Intermediate Futsal
On Wednesday 4th December BHS took two teams (Intermediate Boys & Intermediate Girls) to the SSV Eureka Intermediate Futsal competition at our own Ballarat High School. The winners of the event would be declared the SSV Eureka Champions for 2024!
The Intermediate Boys competition had 6 teams in a Round Robin competition + a finals series. The team was selected in Pool A and drew Mount Clear College A (2 goals to 3 goals), Daylesford Secondary College (9 goals to 1 goal) and Mount Clear College B (4 goals to 1 goal), Beaufort Secondary College (8 goals to 1 goal) and Mount Rowan College (3 goals to 3 goals). The team secured 3wins, 1loss, 1draw to secure a spot in a semi final against Mount Clear College B which they won on penalties after the match finished a 2 all draw. The team moved onto the Grand Final against Mount Clear College A who were the best performing team of the day. The Intermediate Boys played probably their best match of the tournament putting two goals in the net and leaving Mount Clear College A goal-less for a 2 goals to 0 goal victory! The Intermediate Boys team was declared the SSV Eureka Champions for 2024
The Intermediate Girls competition had 3 teams in a double round robin + a Grand Final. They played two matches against Mount Clear College (0 goals to 3 goals and 1 goal to 3 ) and Daylesford Secondary College (1 goal to 1 goal and 0 goals to 1 goal). The team had a tough time, unfortunately not winning any games but having a fun time all the same. They missed out on a position in the Grand Final and finished in 3rd place for the competition.

SSV Eureka Year 7 Boys Futsal
On Friday 6th December BHS also took two Year 7 Boys teams to the SSV Eureka Year Futsal competition at our own Ballarat High School. It was a student free day for BHS so students voluntarily competed on their day off!
The winners of the event would be declared the SSV Eureka Champions for 2024! The Year 7 Boys competition had 6 teams in a round robin + a Grand Final.
The Year 7A team played matches against Mount Clear College (2 goals to 3 goals), Beaufort Secondary College (2 goals to 0 goals), Mount Rowan Secondary College (1 goal to 1 goal), Ballarat High School 7B Team (8 goals to 0 goals) and Phoenix College (3 goals to 0 goals). With 3wins, 1loss, 1draw the team qualified for the semi finals against Mount Rowan Secondary College. BHS got off to an early 1 goal lead but two quick goals from Mount Rowan saw them secure the victory and position in the grand final The BHS Year 7A team had finished in 3rd place.
The Year 7B team played matches against Mount Rowan Secondary College (2 goals to 2 goals), Phoenix Secondary College (0 goals to 1 goal), Mount Clear College (0 goals to 2 goals), Ballarat High School 7A Team (0 goals to 8 goals), Beaufort Secondary College (3 goals to 2 goals). With a record of 1win, 3loss, 1 draw the team failed to win enough matches to qualify for the finals. The BHS Year 7B team had finished in equal 5th position.

BAS After School Sports Results Term 4 2024

Congratulations to the Junior Boys Tennis team who were the BAS Junior Boys B Tennis competition premiers!
Jace Murray (Year 12) – Australian All School Track & Field Championships
Jace Murray (Year 12) has recently attended the Athletics Australia All School Track & Field Championships in Brisbane. With his recent success at the SSV State Track & Field Championships and Athletics Victoria Shield League, Jace was bringing in fantastic form.
On Day 1 Jace competed in the U/18 Boys Discus (1.5kg) where he threw a best distance of 42.89m to finish in 7th place.
On Day 3 Jace competed in the U/18 Boys Javelin (700g) where he threw a best distance of 57.00m to finish in 4th place finishing just short of the bronze medal (60.89m).
What a fantastic opportunity and he should be proud of these fantastic results!
