Physical Education

Dear families

Welcome back everyone to the start of a brand-new year. I hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing Christmas and new year!

This term we have Athletics Day! Our first topic of the term will be focusing on different athletic events, and getting ready for the big day.

This week in PE it was very hot! However, the 3-6s managed to have a great time practicing and having a go at high jump in the gym. They practised two different techniques, the scissor kick and the Fosbury flop.

The 1-2s were practising their running technique out on the basketball courts, learning to look forward when they run and pump their arms back and forth. They also had a go at relays and learning the technique of changing the baton.

Auskick

We are very excited to offer an exciting opportunity for all students in 2025. AFL Victoria will be running a 5-week at School Introductory Auskick program, open to all students aged Prep to Grade 6. Program details will be as follows:

Where: Rolling Hills Primary School

Time: 8:00 – 8:45am

Dates:

 Wednesday 19th February

 Wednesday 26th February

 Wednesday 5th March

 Wednesday 12th March

 Wednesday 19th March

This program provides the opportunity for students to have their first taste of football, or practise their growing skills, in a fun, safe and contact free environment. Parents are able to kiss and drop their children (AFL Victoria staff will be onsite and all have valid Working With Children Checks) or are welcome to stay and watch.

The program cost is $55. No specialist clothing is required (football boots not necessary), however students will be required to bring their own hat and water bottle to each session.

If this is something you are interested in, please register via the QR code. Registrations are now open.

I’m wishing everyone a fantastic weekend.
