In French, Year 6 students learned the names of places in the city. They practised simple phrases to ask and give directions. They applied their learning of directions to navigate an alphabet grid and trialed programming the Digital Technologies Bee-Bot robots to go to different letters (Merci Miss Matthews).

Then, they combined their learning of places in the city and a variety of directions to instruct the Bee-Bot to various locations on a grid of a French city. Students pretended to be lost and ask someone for directions. One student was in charge of giving the directions, while the other students programmed the instructions into the Bee-Bot. The resulting Bee-Bot routes were fun and accurate!
