Casting call for a film shoot in January (French)

 

Caulfield Junior College Casting Call

 

Hello Caulfield Junior College!

 

My name is Sophie Seyd, I’m a British-Australian writer and director who was raised in Melbourne, currently pursuing a film MFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in New York City.

 

My new short film explores the experience of three siblings from France on a beach holiday in Australia in the moments immediately after their father has been swept out to sea - it's a piece about waiting, longing, and impending grief.

 

Our film will bring together talent from the US, the UK, France, and of course Australia. It’s being shot by award winning cinematographer Mélanie Akoka who has had her work screened at Cannes, San Sebastián, Sundance, TIFF and SXSW.

 

We are hoping to cast three French-speaking young performers from the Caulfield Junior College community in the following roles: 

 

ACTOR 1 - AGE 8 (any gender)

ACTOR 2 - AGE 10 (any gender)

ACTOR 3 - AGE 13 (any gender)

SHOOT DAYS: January 14 - 18, 2025

SHOOTING LOCATION: TBC, one of the following - Red Rocks Beach, Point Addis Adiscott Beach, Point Addis The Gap/ Guvvos Beach, Anglesea.

ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL: Accommodation, meals and travel will be provided for actors and their guardians. The address for the accommodation is 6 Philip St Airey’s Inlet Vic. 

 

It would be a wonderful opportunity for students interested in acting or film to gain on set/ on camera experience and work with an exemplary crew from a top-tier film school.

From the interested children/ families we would love to receive self tapes as auditions - please share a video of each child introducing themselves and telling us a story (could be one from their lives or imagined!). 1-2 minutes max.
