Principal's message

Thank you for a fabulous 2024!

As this is the last newsletter for the school year, I would like to sincerely thank all members of our great community for a very successful year. It is hard to believe just how quickly the year has gone. As we reflect on the year we are reminded of the great many achievements our students, teachers and community have made.

 This year, as a community, we have accommodated changes in our buildings and have our new playground hopefully being completed in 2025! 

I would like to thank our hard working School Council who are so committed to Alvie PS being a truly great school that values both community and strong academic outcomes for every student. 

This year we have also established a group of committed Student Representative Council and School Captains who have contributed to our strong sense of community by connecting student voice and leadership across the school. 

Our students are the reason we all come together each day and they have made us so proud this year. So thank you to our students.

We farewell our Yr6 students and wish them the very best in the further education at secondary school.

We thank our parents and carers, including the many grandparents and family members who support the children and the school in so many ways. We have enjoyed many community events throughout this year that have had fantastic parent support. 

Thank you to our exceptionally hard working and positive staff who ensure the school operates so very smoothly and provides support to all of our students and families in so many different ways. Congratulations and thank you to a truly great team who work so very hard every day to ensure every one of our students experiences success at school. 

We farewell Adam Smith and thank him for his past 2 years of dedication to Alvie PS and wish him the best in his future education endeavours. We are currently in the recruitment stage of our new Yr3/4 teacher, with interviews happening in late December, so Yr3/4 families, stay tuned for an announcement early in the new year!
