Kokoda Remembrance Ceremony - Jake Brown and Chris Harris
Last Friday, Barron and Purton Captains Chris Harris and Jake Brown accompanied other school representatives in attending the annual Kokoda Remembrance Ceremony in Concord. It was a solemn service featuring a lovely display of red poppies and messages from the Governor General and NSW Premier. We were able to lay a wreath on behalf of the college to pay our respects and indulged in a much-needed afternoon tea before leaving.

Performing Arts Festival Drama Night
As Performing Arts Captains, we had the privilege to MC the cocurricular drama night last Friday. We were delighted to find a packed Sarto with eager family and friends supporting our cocurricular drama students. The evening started off with the energetic Intermediate Drama Ensemble performing ‘Pete the Sheep’, followed by Junior Drama and their hilarious scenes from ‘Monty Python’ and ending with a dark comedy from the Senior Drama ensemble performing ‘Flesh’.
These performance evenings are crucial for our creative students as it gives them experience on stage, in front of an audience and an even better experience backstage with their supportive friends and fellow actors.
As Performing Arts Captains we look forward to showcasing and creating more brilliant work to continue fostering the creative art culture at our school.
See you soon.
Performing Arts Captains - Max Lenton, Vice Michael Krizan and Darcy Foster.
Team of the Week: 1st V Basketball Team
Last weekend, the St Pius X boys saw many wins across all age groups and sports, however, the team of the week must go to the 1st V Basketball Team. The mighty 1st V came up against our arch-rivals St Patrick's College, and, being led by captain Jake Brown, they won in a gruelling 85-83 game. Notable performances go to Aiden McNeilly and Flynn Pavely, leading the team in scoring.
