In Conversation with Harley Reid

St Joseph’s College Year 12 student Harley Reid has withstood more pressure this year than most do in a lifetime.

Not only has this humble young man been working to obtain his VCE, he’s also been one of the most talked about names in Australian sporting media.

For more than 12 months, Harley has been considered favorite for the No.1 AFL draft pick this year, and the media attention and scrutiny alongside that has been relentless.

‘A generational talent’ is a term that has been used regularly to describe the footballing ability of this modest young man from Tongala, and we sat down with Harley a few weeks ago to chat about how he’s handled the attention, and what Year 12 has looked like for him this year.

Our school community is so incredibly proud of Harley and the way he has carried himself right throughout his school journey at St Joseph’s, but particularly so this year.

We know you will all join with us in wishing him all the very best at the National Draft on November 20.

We hope you enjoy our conversation!
