LITERACY

We have been learning how to make our writing more descriptive by using adjectives, verbs, and adverbs and learning that describing how something tastes, smells, sounds, or feels helps the reader visualise what they are reading.  For this activity we had to chose a place we knew and then write a description on a postcard.  Here are some of our postcards, enjoy.

MATHEMATICS

In maths we have been learning about fractions and how to represent them as equal parts. We have been learning to write fractions for shaded areas and find fractions of a collection.  We made some posters to show our understanding.

INQUIRY

Australia has one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. This term we are learning about Multiculturalism. Did you know that 1 in 4 Australians were born overseas; 46 per cent have at least one parent who was born overseas; and nearly 20 per cent of Australians speak a language other than English at home.  We have been looking at our backgrounds and celebrating how diverse our classroom is. 

We have made posters of foods from around the world, flags and clothes.
