Year 3 News

During our ‘Big Question Time’ sessions this week, the Year 3 students have been conducting science experiments!

On Tuesday, we placed a leaf in a cup of water and placed that cup in the sunlight to observe what might happen. We went through the scientific process of making predictions, and explaining our reasoning, before recording the results.

We noticed that after some time, air bubbles began to form from the leaves. We were watching the process of photosynthesis! We concluded that plants are very helpful to our planet, because they produce the oxygen that we breathe.

Year 4 News

Yesterday, the Year 4 students went Geocaching around the school grounds. It was fun, adventurous, engaging and challenging. It was very social but the most fun part was getting to work with new people and getting to know them better. The caches were made to blend in with the area to make it harder for us to find. The geocaching containers come in many different shapes and sizes like micro, small medium and large. For example; there was a rock cache that looked like a real rock in the rock garden and a green capsule cache that was hanging in a tree. We used google maps to put in the co-ordinates to find what area of the school the geocache was in. When you found a geocache you could sign your name on the paper and carefully place it back where you found it for someone else to find.  We would love to go geocaching again one day.
