Visual Arts

The 5/6 students have started a unit on printmaking.

Using gelli plates, the students have created one print of a textured background which we will layer onto this coming week.

This week we will be using stencils. Here are some of their background prints.

The 3/4 students Jazz festival artwork is on display!

If you get a chance, head down to the council office building windows facing out towards Woolies, or the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) foyer windows.

The 3/4 students have also started working on a abstract face mask. These are some of their fabulous designs…

Students in 1/2 finished and took home their dragon puppets last week.

Construction tasks often bring challenges and opportunities for problem solving and this activity was no exception!

Students show resilience and resourcefulness in creating their puppets.

Students in Foundation read the picture story book “Our Island” which was illustrated by the Gunana children .

Students in Foundation viewed the picture story book “Our Island” which was illustrated by the Indigenous children of Gununa (Mornington Island) with Alison Lester.

After reading this text we talked about places and spaces that we love.

The students drew their favourite place using oil pastels, then used a dye wash over their drawings.
