Junior School
WELCOME TO TERM 4
Term 4 begun with us enjoying some beautiful weather and appreciating our gorgeous grounds. Over the initial two weeks, our focus was on the intensive swimming program, and we are thrilled to report exceptional progress from each swimmer, and most notably the Foundation students mastered the art of dressing and undressing with a minimum of fuss and speed. Congratulations!
Last week saw the culmination of the swimming program with the House Swimming Carnival. It was wonderful to see everyone participating and doing their best for their House. It was a record-breaking carnival with ten records being broken; some of which have been unbroken for many years. The reprinting of the records pages for next year will take some time!
As we gear up for the upcoming event, Ball Games, there's an air of excitement because this year's carnival holds special significance—it's our 75th Anniversary. The students are all practising the games and concentrating on those intricate formations and ball passes. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this event, cheering on our two Houses, and engaging in the traditional 'War Cries.' Let's make this anniversary one to remember!

Ball Games!
Next Friday
We encourage families to proudly don the distinctive house colours of Ruthven or Thomson as well!
This year, the Ball Games Carnival will be held on a Friday afternoon. Due to the early start of the Carnival, students from Foundation to Year 6 will be dismissed at lunchtime, between 12:20pm-1:00pm on Friday, 27 October. This early dismissal is intended to provide our students with the opportunity to rest, enjoy a snack, and prepare for the upcoming Ball Games Carnival. Please note that students who are enrolled in the Term 4 Chess Club will be dismissed at 1:00pm.
Next Friday 27 October will be the inaugural twilight meet of Ball Games starting at 4pm and a celebration of the 75 years. The Ball Games Carnival is one of the highlights of the Junior School Calendar and all students are expected to attend.
The Carnival commences at 4.00pm on Friday 27 October in the Junior School Gym. Doors will open at 3.45pm. The Carnival will conclude with a barbeque hosted by the P&F where sausages and drinks will be on sale.
We encourage all families to invite members of their extended family to join them for this wonderful Huntingtower spectacle celebrating 75 years. Seats for spectators are available at the side of the court as well as upstairs on the mezzanine level. Two seats will be specifically reserved for Year 6 parents. Seating is at a premium so please have pre-school children sitting on an adult’s lap and older siblings standing. This year there will be more reserved seating than usual for the Huntingtower dignitaries in attendance.
Student arrangements: Students perform in full sports uniform which includes House polo-shirt, PE shorts, Huntingtower sports socks, and appropriate, supportive athletic shoes. Shoes need to be cleaned for the Carnival. Students are encouraged to wear their school tracksuit over their sports uniform to school. House colour ribbons may be worn in the hair.
Foundation and Year 1: Meet in their classrooms with their teachers at 3.45pm.
They will then walk over with their class as a group.
Years 2-6: Please be seated in the Junior School Gym by 3.50pm in their House area.
We look forward to sharing this exciting event with you and your family.
