Respectful Relationships and Wellbeing
Day for Daniel -
We are incredibly proud of our students and their involvement with out recent Day for Daniel event on Friday, November 10th, where our Prep to 2 students shone brightly with their outstanding performances of 'The Body Boundary Song' .
The day was dedicated to honoring the memory of Daniel Morcombe, raising awareness about child safety, and celebrating the resilience and courage of our youngest community members. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by all our students was fantastic.
We thank the students for the brilliant job they did moving around the classes to do different child safety activities with in their levels which we hope will hold them in good stead as they navigate their world.
Sex Education Program
Our senior school students from 4-6 started their Sex Ed program with the expert in the field Cath McCallig, each class did a one hour session with the students. She was blown the students maturity and cohesion within each class as they navigated these important topics. The students were all giving homework to complete with their parents for this upcoming Monday so please make sure you have a conversation with your child before Monday.
Cath will be working with the students the next two weeks on Monday and then Tuesday to work in with our swimming program and school closure. I would also like to thank our amazing PFA on their support in paying for the program. Cath was blown away with the gesture and it another reminder of just how lucky we are at Sacred Heart.
Podcast suggestion -
This is a great parenting podcast that unpacks the hardest job you amazing parents do each day. I find the podcast a nice reminder that the challenges faced by parents are not alone; these are challenges faced by all parents.
How Other Dads Dad is a bit different for Hamish - The chats are long form, intimate and unafraid to ask the big questions about dadding. They are also equally comfortable in not providing any answers to these questions. Every dad Hamish chats to has a different approach and their own unique experiences that have shaped their dadding - what they all share though, is desire to do great by their kids and strive to do better.
