School Council Update
School Council Update
Here are the highlights from the School Council Meeting held on Monday 30th November.
OSHC Providers
As the current contract with our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) provider, OSHClub, concludes at the end of this school year, the opportunity has arisen for other providers to present their proposals. Three potential providers showcased their offerings during the School Council meeting, and councillors have reviewed their presentations and relevant expressions of interest (EOI). Reference checks are in progress, and a decision will be determined through a voting process.
The aim is to ensure a seamless transition into the Holiday Program for January 2024.
Social Events
The Council has given approval for the End of Year Picnic event proposal scheduled for Friday 8 December. Further details regarding the event will be communicated to the school community shortly.
At their upcoming meeting, Social Club will begin planning school social events for 2024. They invite anyone who would be interested in supporting event planning to come along.
The online meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 22 November, at 2pm. The meeting link will be available in the 'Next Week at FPS', sent out the week prior.
Policy Update – Dress Code Policy
After discussion in the Policy Committee, the following changes were made to the ‘Uniform and Dress Code’ Policy:
- The title has been changed to ‘Dress Code Policy’ to reflect the fact that as the uniform is not compulsory, and only a dress code is required to enforce the guidelines.
- Clarity has been provided regarding instances where the uniform is strongly recommended, particularly for excursions and school photos.
