What to bring to a Christmas BBQ?
When asked the question “What to bring to a Christmas BBQ?” my mind went into overdrive, as there are hundreds of dishes that would be on my favourite’s list… to narrow it down to one or two when I love Christmas baking, now that’s tricky. So after much thought and a quick survey from my office pals I’ve come up with a couple of my 'go to' dishes. Everyone has their own 'go to' favourites, whether it be that salad you love, or the absolutely sickly sweet chocolate dessert.
Here are just a few of my favourites.
Always on my list to get the party started is a good Grazing Board, loaded with deli meats (sopresso salami, pastrami, prosciutto), a big bowl of antipasto mix, (olives, roasted capsicum, mushrooms, eggplant, etc) hard and soft cheeses, always a Brie, and beautiful fresh fruit, accompanied with a nice cold glass of sparkling. Who doesn’t love a good graze?
We all have our favourite salad, the one that is quick and easy, or that salad that is so delicious that you secretly hope no one else will eat it so there will be plenty of leftovers for yourself.
My 'go to' salad this year has been from my favourite website 'Recipetineats'
Pearl Couscous Salad – it’s quick and easy, full of flavours and very refreshing. Check out the recipe below.

When it comes to dessert, is it a Pavlova, Trifle or Cheesecake you make? I’m sure you have your favourite. Last Christmas for my family I made Nigella Lawson’s Chocolate Raspberry Pavlova, this was a hit, and has once again been requested by my boys for Christmas lunch 2023. See the recipe below.

Whatever you decide to take to a Christmas BBQ, I know for sure it will be enjoyed by your family and friends but most importantly it is the fellowship you share together that brings joy to each of our hearts.
