Rememberance Day

Every year, on 11 November at 11 am—the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month—we pause to remember those individuals who have served and those who have died in all wars and peacekeeping operations.

Remembrance Day marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front at the end of the First World War—the first moment of peace in four years. In this time of unrest and war in the Middle East and Ukraine we hope that the fragile peace hard won by generations past can be restored and endure for generations to come.

This week Fee Declaration Forms for 2024 were sent home to each family. If you haven't spotted a green note, check it's not hiding in the bottom of your child's bag.

Staffing Update for 2024

With Mrs Chesterfield's appointment as Principal in 2024, the position of Deputy Principal became vacant. After advertising and interviews, I am pleased to announce that Mrs Lisa Glatz has been appointed to as Deputy Principal. I know that in the new year, you will all support the new leadership team, as I am confident that they will maintain and continue to ensure the reputation that SMJ has in our community.

Contact Details

We continue to find out-of-date addresses and phone numbers when trying to contact families. If your address, place of work or phone numbers have changed through the year, please either call in or email your updated details to office@smjhorsham.catholic.edu.au 

I understand that some of you may have updated your details on PAM. Unfortunately, these changes don't flow into the Administration system, therefore, we need you to notify us of any changes.

Without the correct details, we are unable to contact you should the need arise.

2024 Intentions

To assist with our ongoing planning for 2024, please contact the Office (5382 3000) if there are circumstances leading to your family not continuing with your enrolment.

Capital Grant Application.

Due to increasing enrolments, we have submitted an application for funding for a Capital Grant. Grant applications will be finalised next year, and the successful schools will be notified in June 2024. Fingers crossed that our application will be successful.
