Snapshots from Springvale Campus
The FLC students have had a busy and exciting few weeks. Last week, they ventured to Chesterfield Farm for the day and they did not let the wet weather slow them down. The students got to pat rabbits and goats, and were enamoured with the horses and alpacas. This week, they engaged in the Ruccis Circus Incursion, a free incursion provided through the PE program via an Active Schools Grant to support students with staying active.
On the 17th of October, the Springvale Campus SLC students visited the Healesville Sanctuary. They went on a tour around the venue, sighting many native Australian animals, including koalas, echidnas, and some fighting kangaroos. They enjoyed seeing a large owl and were chased by birds, but the students reported the highlight was the 'Spirit of the Sky' bird show.
The students in the JLC and MLC on the other hand have been actively trying to keep our school beautiful and have started a ‘Waste Warriors’ club, that is responsible for picking up and monitoring the rubbish in the school yard. The group was activated by student voice and students are so proud to be making a difference in the school yard. The 'Waste Warriors' present and promote at assembly each fortnight, and are currently running a completion to design new labels for our rubbish and paper recycling bins. Bravo Waste Warriors!
On Friday we celebrated World Teacher’s Day. Students presented teachers with cards and a gift at assembly and a special morning tea was also provided. A great big thank you to all of our special, wonderful teachers; the staff, students and school community appreciate every little thing that you do to ensure every student has a great time at school. THANK YOU!
A reminder that the swimming program for the Springvale Campus Foundation – Grade 4 students begins on Tuesday October 31sr.
Have a great week ahead,
