From the Principal

I extend a warm welcome back to the Oxley community as we commence Term 2. We look forward to seeing you and connecting with you throughout the term ahead.
Our theme verse this year from John 15:5 has reminded us of the importance of our connection with Jesus and the significance of abiding in Him.
The Easter period often provides us with time for reflection about God’s love for us. Easter reminds us that God loves us all and seeks to connect with us through Christ. We are reminded of Jesus’ sacrifice, God’s plan for redemption, and the promise of eternal life for believers.
Following Easter, I pray we have a renewed sense of determination to connect with Jesus. We know to flourish; we need to abide in Him. So how do we abide in Christ?
- Reading the Bible. Reading and reflecting on God's Word can strengthen our understanding and connection with Him. Regularly reading God’s Word fills us with His truth, which can renew our minds and help us become more like Him.
- Prayer. When we pray, we have an opportunity to connect with God. We can set time aside each day to pray and give God our praise and thanks and to align our heart with His. Prayer provides us with a chance to talk with God and deepen our connection with Him.
- Connecting. The Bible encourages us to connect with other believers. Let us continue to connect and encourage one another in our faith. It is so special to be in a Christian school community where we can support and encourage one another and grow closer to Christ.
I hope today, we can find time to read God’s Word, spend time with Him in prayer, and connect with others to encourage each other in our faith. May we continue to connect with God throughout the year and support one another in unity at Oxley.
Open Day
We extend our sincere thanks to the many families who visited Oxley on Open Day. We valued the opportunity to introduce our visitors to our dedicated staff, and to share about our engaging curriculum and what makes our Christ-centered approach to education unique. Thank you to the students who supported this event by welcoming visitors, performing, and participating in classroom demonstrations. I am most grateful to our incredible staff for supporting this event with enthusiasm. We also give thanks to God for the beautiful weather and the wonderful day we had connecting with the broader Oxley community, including past students and staff, parents and grandparents, and friends of our school community.
The 2025 Open Day Competition was drawn on Friday 9 May. All three winners have been contacted. Congratulations, we hope you enjoy your prize!
ANZAC Dawn Service
Thank you to the staff and students who facilitated the ANZAC Dawn Service at Oxley on Thursday 24 April. May I acknowledge Miss Melanie Haley for her work organising this event. A significant number of the Oxley community attended the event. Our Junior School students laid wreaths they had made to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of those who have died in war. This event also provided us with a moment to remember all those who served our nation in times of war. We also extend thanks to Mr Jeffrey Clarke and our musicians, Mr David Cook for arriving early and organising AV, Junior School teachers for attending and creating wreaths with their students and Mr Paul Moseley and the students who made pancakes for breakfast for attendees.
Mother’s Day
On Sunday, Mother’s Day provides many of us with a chance to celebrate our mums or the special females God has placed in our lives like our grandmothers, aunties or our carers. The Bible reminds us to honour our mothers. At Oxley, we are grateful to work in close partnership with parents to support our students to flourish. A special thank you to all the mums in our school community. We pray you have a special day on Sunday.
Working together,
