Peer Support

Introducing our Peer Support Program

Peer Support K-6 is commencing this week. The whole school participates for 30 minutes each week on a Tuesday for 8 weeks. Two Year 6 Peer Leaders will facilitate a group of     8-10 younger students, who work together on several structured activities. Each teacher will supervise 2-3 groups in a room. We are running a module called Living Positively - helping explore the concept of optimism.

Families are encouraged to talk to their child about Peer Support every week, to help reinforce concepts learned.

Session 1 (Week 2)

The first session enables children to get to know everyone in the group, and agree how to work well together and cooperate. They also begin to think about what it means to be optimistic.

Session 2 (Week 3)

This week in Peer Support the children share the things they enjoy in life and have an opportunity to discuss their favourite activity. This session enables children to recognise what makes them happy. To support the session, we encourage families to discuss with their child their favourite activity.
