Welcome to Term 2
Welcome back to students and families for Term 2. I hope that everyone enjoyed the Easter break and are ready for the term ahead. We have lots of learning and activities planned for this term. Our newsletter and the Sentral Parent Portal are the best places to keep up with what is happening at our school. We are trying to reduce our use of paper and printing when communicating with families. Digital mediums are usually more efficient in delivering messages quickly.
P&C Easter Raffle and Mother's Day Stall
Thank you to our P&C for the wonderful Easter Baskets and prizes for the Easter Raffle. Please read the information in this newsletter for their report on this event.
This week, the P&C will be having a Mother's Day Stall in the school hall. Students will have the opportunity to come to the hall to purchase a variety of gifts for their mother's or significant carers in their lives. There are a variety of items available for purchase with nothing over $7! The stall will take place on Thursday 8 May. Please support the P&C's fundraising efforts. Thank you to all the P&C volunteers and the other parent helpers.
Playgrounds in the morning
As families are aware, our gates open at 8.40am and remain open until 9.20am. Once students arrive at school, they should remain in the relevant areas - Playground A for students K-2 and Playground C for students 3-6.
For safety reasons:
students should not 'hang around' school gates or leave the school grounds for any reason.
a teacher is on duty to supervise, however, the size of the area is large, therefore students need to stay where they can be seen by the teacher.
Parents are welcome to stay with their child/children until the music/bell rings.
Students riding bikes or scooters to school must wear a helmet and walk their bike/scooter into school.
There are no large ball or running/chasing games during this period.
Birthdays and Allergy Awareness
We love celebrating birthdays and often families bring in some sort of food (doughnuts, cupcakes, sweets) to share with their child's classmates. We would like families to be aware that numerous students have allergies and are highly allergic to these foods/treats. I want to ask that all families let the teacher know if they are going to supply these treats the day before their child's birthday. This will allow the teacher to be mindful of any students in their care who may have allergies in the class. Thank you for your cooperation.
We will be having an Allergy Awareness Week this term. More information will be provided in our next newsletter.
Quote for Week 2
