From the Principal's Desk

Welcome back!
Welcome back to Term 2. Despite this being a short week, it has certainly been very busy. We look forward to a term filled with lots of learning and fun along the way.
Combined Schools Big Day Out
At the end of last term, you would have received an Operoo notification regarding our Combined Schools Big Day Out on Monday 5th May.
Together with the children and staff from St Augustine's and Annunciation Schools, we will celebrate Mass at St Augustine’s Church at 10:15 am followed by a sausage sizzle lunch and a movie (Snow White) at Sun Theatre Yarraville. The children will receive a Pop Top and popcorn to enjoy during the movie.
We will depart from Corpus Christi at 9:45 am and return at approximately 3:15 pm.
Please see the Operoo form for all the details.
School Photos
Our school photo day is scheduled for Tuesday, 6th May. The children need to wear their summer uniforms.
Order forms have been sent home with families and are to be completed online. Stay tuned for more information.
Winter Uniforms
This term, children will begin to transition into their winter uniform. If families need to purchase items, please complete an order form available from the front office or the website and submit it to the school office.
Alternatively, place an order via email to info@cckingsville.catholic.edu.au
and we will call you when it's ready to collect.
For the first few weeks of Term 2, you can choose between summer or winter uniform depending upon the weather. Children will need to wear the full winter uniform from the week beginning Monday 12th May.
Building Program
Earlier this year, Mr Hyde informed you that our Administration building will be undergoing a major renovation. At the end of last term, we were informed that work is expected to commence in the very near future! We will keep you posted as to the relocation of the offices, OSHClub and access to the school grounds and car park once details have been finalised.
Year 5/6 Zoo Snooze Camp
Next week, our Year 5/6 students are heading off to the Melbourne Zoo for their school camp.
Zoo Snooze provides the students with a unique overnight educational experience.
Students will be engaged in a ‘zoovival camp’, where they will get to know the animals of the Zoo as they have never known them before. They will learn their stories, their secrets and the adaptations that allow them to survive.
Throughout their adventures, students will develop their own survival instincts as they work together in “tribes” to out-smart, out-eat and out-play the challenges that Melbourne Zoo presents after dark.
We look forward to hearing all about their adventure on their return!
Student Portfolios
Now that you have had the opportunity to read your child's Student Portfolio and celebrate their learning, we ask that you return the portfolios next week so we can continue compiling samples of your child's work.
Kind regards
Jane Wilkinson
Acting Principal
