Mother's Day Lunch

Last Friday saw our SKiPPS mums (and special people) celebrate the always-popular Mothers Day Lunch.

The lunch, (afternoon and evening...) were a wonderful celebration of the SKiPPS mums and a well-deserved chance to let their hair down and have some fun together.

There were 95 women from our school, including grandmas, past SKiPPS mums and women in the community.

As well as this important celebration and social connection, the event raised $5,363.40.

As always, the majority of this money is being donated to the school's camps and excursions fund - funds used to support families with the costs of sending their children to these (often expensive) opportunities.

The organisers also donated $1500 to the Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund.

The Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund was established to honour the life and tremendous contribution of Eleanor Jane Bryant, a young mother, wife, speech therapist and much-loved family member, friend and community contributor whose life was tragically cut short in November 2024.

Under the leadership of her husband Tim, Eleanor’s family and close friends have established the Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund to provide perpetual memorial scholarships for rural students studying or training in the allied health & early childhood fields so close to Eleanor’s heart.

It is the wish of Eleanor’s family that these scholarships support ongoing professional development and access to education for rural allied health professionals, and in turn better support children and families and enable equality of access to crucial special needs services of speech and occupational therapy as well as paediatric mental health and behavioural support in their rural communities.

Any families wishing to make their own donation to this amazing fund can find details at https://australiacf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=2014

Please save the date for the annual lunch for Friday May 8th 2026. Only 360 days to go!

A huge thank you to all of those who donated to the raffle and silent auction.

If anyone has any ideas on how to better the day or any feedback, we are all ears!

Many thanks,

Sophie Maguire
