Help needed - join a sub-committee!

As shared last week, we are looking for more members of our great school community to help us by joining one of our School Council Sub-Committees.

These sub-committees are made up of staff and parents who work together to focus on improving particular areas of our school. We welcome anyone who’s keen to join — whether you bring professional experience, a useful skillset, or just a passion for making our school the best it can be. Here’s a little bit about each group:

🛠️ Buildings and Grounds

This group oversees the condition of our school buildings and outdoor spaces, and helps plan upgrades and improvements — from garden cleanups to long-term facility planning.

🎉 Fundraising

This group coordinates fundraising activities and community events that bring us together and help raise vital funds to support school initiatives. If you love organising events or being part of something fun, this is the group for you!

📚 Education and Policy

This committee works closely with staff to support the development of a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum, monitor our Annual Implementation Plan, and help shape school policies that reflect our values and goals.

💰 Finance

Here, parents and staff help monitor the school’s financial statements and assist in shaping our annual school budget, ensuring we’re making the most of every dollar.

🖤💛❤️ Reconciliation Working Party

This vital group oversees the development and implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). It helps guide how we meaningfully acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives within our school.

We would love to have as many parents, carers and community members involved in these groups as possible — your contribution really does make a difference. It’s a fantastic way to connect more deeply with the school, get to know others in our community, and model active engagement for your children.
