Tennis

Ruby Bull, George Claxton, Mason Schaefer, Charlie Rice and Hayden Smith, represented O'Connor at the Dio Tennis, at a sun-drenched SportUNE this past Wednesday

Ruby played 4 singles matches, beating her McCarthy opponents 6-0 and 6-1, before losing to older, more powerful St Mary's girls.

Ruby, only in yr7, played some beautiful tennis throughout the day, impressing other staff, and looks to have a bright future in the game.

George had a good first up win against Holy Trinity 6-2, and then two tough losses to McCarthy and St Mary's. He also teamed up with Hayden for a good 4-1 win over Holy Trinity in the doubles.

Despite losing his three singles encounters, Hayden played well and improved with each match.

After losing his first match, Charlie defeated his Holy Trinity opponent 6-3. Joining forces with Mason, the lads had an exciting victory over Holy Trinity 4-2.

Mason should be proud of his efforts, with two singles victories against Holy Trinity 6-1, 6-2, before a narrow loss to St Mary's.

Please congratulate all of our athletes who tried their absolute hardest, but more importantly displayed great sportsmanship/behaviour on and off the court.

Hockey

We are proud to share that four of our students travelled to Newcastle to trial for the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Hockey U15 team!— all of whom made it to the “possibles and probables” selection stage. Well done to Tilly Patterson, Nayte Estreich, and Alex Marsh on this fantastic achievement!

It’s wonderful to see the continued success of our college in hockey. From little things, big things grow. Keep setting your goals high and striving to reach your full potential!

Congratulations to Tyler Rigall on his selection for the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Hockey team!
