Education Week is an annual celebration of education in Victoria. This year’s theme, A Celebration of Cultures, highlights the diversity of our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school.
At Croydon Hills we will celebrate Education Week on Tuesday, with our open afternoon to showcase the fantastic work that our teachers and Education Support staff are doing every day.
Our school Book Fair will run in the Library next week from Monday 19th May to Friday 23rd May. We would love to see as many families as possible visit our Book Fair.
A range of books from one of our suppliers, Lamont Books, will be on display in the Library and are available for purchase. This is a great fundraising opportunity for our school. Opening times for the Book Fair are below:
Monday 19/5 8.30 - 9.30am
Tuesday 20/5 8.30 - 9.30am and 2.30 – 4.00pm
Wednesday 21/5 8.30 - 9.30am and 3.00 - 4.00pm
Thursday 22/5 8.30 - 9.30am
Friday 23/5 8.30 - 9.30am
Today we've celebrated our Education Support staff on ES Day with a bacon and eggs breakfast! At CHPS you will find ES staff in the Library, out in our grounds, Learning Enhancement rooms, classrooms, the Canteen, Uniform Shop, First Aid, Out of School Hours Care, Student Wellbeing and the Admin office.
To our ES, thank you to all you do for our students, their families and our staff. Be it school administration, service delivery, or student support, you take on take on tasks and challenges with a nothing-is-too-hard attitude and we appreciate you!
This week our school is also celebrating our Wellbeing Officer Cheyenne Yates.
Cheyenne will be finishing her time with Croydon Hills Primary School this Friday as she makes a career transition and begins her Masters of Education to become a secondary school teacher.
Cheyenne began her time at Croydon Hills PS as a wellbeing officer in 2019 and moved into her current wellbeing leadership role in 2022. She has led many proactive wellbeing initiatives, most notably the implementation of the Helping Hands buddies program, which provides both a supportive play environment for students who need a little extra help at playtime and leadership opportunities for those students who enjoy mentoring others.
Cheyenne has also been a tremendous leader to so many families and staff with the programs, plans and processes she has put into individual student support.
Thank you Cheyenne for everything you've done for so many!
We'll miss you!
Each year Victorian Government Schools provide an Annual Report to the school community.
The Annual Report is prepared in 2 parts, the performance summary (data sets), which detail the school’s performance trends over time and the 'About Our School' commentary which outlines our school context and achievements in the writing.
Our school's 2024 Annual Report has been certified by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and is now available for viewing on our school's website HERE.
