Prep to Grade 2: 

The Junior Module has been off to such a great start this term, with lots of fun things going on and some amazing things on the horizon.

 

During our first week back, we had a special focus on commemorating ANZAC day, and the junior students had a great time making ANZAC biscuits with the grade 5/6 buddies. It was fantastic for students to taste this special treat as well as explore a recipe which has lead us directly into our writing focus of procedures this term.

 

Prep

Literacy

The Preps have progressed in their Little Learners Love Literacy journey and have been learning the sounds 'n' and 'o'. 

It has been great to see their writing start to develop as we continue with recounts and procedures. 

 

Numeracy

This term, the Preps have started with a unit on addition. They are looking forward to starting their work on subtraction next week. 

 

Grade 1/2

Literacy

Grade 1s have started looking at morphology this term learning about suffixes and prefixes including 'ing' and 'un'.

Grade 2s have continued to look at a range of less common spellings and have really been focussing on reading and responding to targeted texts.

 

Maths

Students have continued developing their understanding and skill with addition and subtraction this term. They have been learning and consolidating a range of different strategies for adding numbers more efficiently, as they move away from 'counting on'. Students have been introduced to
