Reminders & Homework

Some important requests from home:

  • In Week 3, children will be asking questions and gathering information about their extended family relationships.
  • In Week 5, children will be bringing home a list of interview questions. These will be used to interview their grandparents/parents about their school lives and record their responses. The questions and students' written responses should be returned by Week 6.

The Homework expectations for this term are:

  • Hearing your child read their take home book every night. Your children will be given 5 books each week: 3 whole language books and 2 decodable books, focusing on differentiated phonics goals. A significant investment has been made to purchase new decodable books and we would highly appreciate them being returned every week. Please keep the books in your child's red reader bag as we use them frequently to run in-class activities.
  • In week 3, teachers will also send home some some comprehension questions you can ask your child during and after reading. Please keep these questions in your child's red reader bag and use them after each reading session.
  • Reading the Magic 300 Words every week and optional spelling practice.
  • Revising our learning of counting and skip counting from last term and playing Michael Minas Love Maths games.
  • Optional use of PM eCollection, Nessy and Matific websites/apps.

Kind regards,
