In Mathematics, we will focus on:
- Deepening students’ understanding of and fluency with numbers up to 12 and beyond.
- Counting forwards and backwards from any number.
- Skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s from 0 and other starting numbers.
- Making, counting, naming and ordering numbers within collections using place value language (ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands).
- Partitioning numbers according to their digits and place values.
- Linking place value to the performance of addition and subtraction operations.
- Recognising Australian coins and notes and ordering money according to value.
- Representing data by creating graphs, then describing and interpreting that information, including through the use of digital technology.
- Using informal units to measure and compare objects’ length and mass.
