During Literacy our students have been doing a book study on “The Lion Inside” by Rachel Bright.  Students have been looking closely at the characters' traits, setting details and character feelings.  There has been some great descriptive language in the childen's work and they also created a Dear Diary entry from the point of view of the mouse.   We have shared a couple of examples for you to enjoy:

Dear Diary

A Lot of animals trod on me.  I am ignored and forgotten and the lion is so big while i am so meek, quiet and small.  I wish I was as loud and big as the lion.  So many animals notice him because the lion is so important.

Today I had a bad day.  I got trod on and stepped on.  I want to learn how to ROAR NOW so I can make some friends.  Maybe if I get some courage I will go see the important lion.

Students were also very excited on Wednesday morning as we welcomed our mums into the classroom to spend some time together for Mother's Day.  They were very proud to present their special gift to their mums in the morning.
