Principal's Report

Term 2 Week 3

Thank you for the improved manner in which we are entering and exiting the school carparks. I'm sure we can all agree that the safety of our children is, and always will be, our top priority.

On a celebratory note, what a wonderful day we had on Wednesday honouring our mothers and all the special women in our lives. Our classrooms were abuzz with energy as we created beautiful art pieces together, followed by a special Liturgy led so beautifully by our children. A heartfelt thank you to all our staff for the time and effort you dedicated to making the morning so special for our community, and to Anthony, Lora, and Carmel for preparing and supporting our students during the Liturgy.

As we approach Mother’s Day this Sunday, we pause to honour and give thanks for the extraordinary women who shape our lives with love, faith, and sacrifice. We are especially mindful of the many ways mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures reflect the nurturing presence of God in our world.

In our Catholic tradition, we also look to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, as the perfect model of grace, humility, and maternal care. Throughout the month of May, dedicated to our Blessed Mother, we encourage our students to look to her as an example of commitment and compassion, and to reflect on the values she embodied.

This week at St Leonard’s, we have asked God to bless our mothers for the love they so freely give. We pray especially for mothers who are struggling, those who are grieving, and those who are no longer with us.

A big thank you to the PFA for organising and running the Mother's Day Stall. We hope all everyone enjoys the gifts they receive.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

One of previous students is raising funds for The Smith Family. Please consider donating to help her reach her fundraising goal.

I'm Mia Ludowyke and I am taking part in The Dream Run to help Australian kids in need achieve their dreams. In the month of June I will be walking 100kms to raise funds for The Smith Family to help children in need get the most out of their education. 1 in 6 Australian children are living in poverty and don’t have equal access to an education. With your help, we can support these kids so they can dream BIG and create a better future for themselves. Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to change the lives of Australian children living in poverty. All donations count and are greatly appreciated!
