Wellbeing News

Hello Fabulous Parents & Carers,
Â
I would love to start this newsletter by giving a couple of big THANK-YOU shout outs!
Â
😀 Bel - who did an amazing job setting up our Breakfast Club area, ordering all the food and EVERYTHING else that was required to make our launch a humongous success!
Â
😀 Jenni- who is a neighbour of one of our teachers and a generous superstar with a kind heart. Jenni reached out to offer money or goods donations to support our students in any way needed. We took up her generous offer to buy a whole lot of equipment required for our Breakfast Club. Jenni generously purchased bowls, plates, cutlery, toasters, a sandwich press, utensils, a blender, storage containers, and she also donated a rice cooker for porridge. We will be inviting Jenni to attend a Breakfast Club so that she can see all her purchases being well used.
Â
😀 All the staff - who pitched in to help with the set up, the serving and the clean up of Breakfast Club. We really do have spectacular MEPS staff, always keen to help!
Â
🥣 We are currently seeking parent volunteers to assist with:Â
• setting up our breakfast areaÂ
• helping prepare and serve breakfast to studentsÂ
• cleaning up at the conclusion of breakfast.
If you are able to help on a Tuesday morning and you have a current Working With Children Check, we’d love your support.Â
Please email either myself or Bel to let us know.

☕A big thank you to the parents who came to the cuppa and catch up morning tea. Although the scones were a little more like biscuits than scones, they tasted delicious and it was so nice to actually take a minute to sit and chat with parents and the Wellbeing team. We are hoping to do this once per Term.

Anxiety in Kids
Â
Based on feedback from our survey, it seems that anxiety in kids is an area for concern within our parent community. I have attached a link below for The Fear-Less Program. This is a great, free, evidence based, online program from Triple P – (Positive Parenting Program). Fear-Less isn’t about eliminating fear altogether — sometimes, fear protects us. Instead, it’s about giving your family a toolbox of strategies, skills, and knowledge to build resilience in children, manage anxious feelings and stop unnecessary worrying.Â
Â
Click on the link to see a range of great articles, programs and clips all about Positive Parenting. Funded by the government, all online courses are free! https://www.triplep-parenting.net.au/au/parenting-courses/fear-less-triple-p-online/      Â

Warmest regards,
