Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire school community for the incredibly warm welcome I’ve received. Your kindness, support, and enthusiasm have made me feel right at home, and I’m truly grateful to be part of such a vibrant and caring environment. I look forward to working together to support our students and celebrate all that makes our school so special.
As we look ahead, I want to share my vision for making Holy Trinity a destination school:
- For Students: Where every student feels inspired, challenged, and supported—making our school a place where they not only want to be, but where they truly thrive.
- For Staff: Where this is the place they want to be because they know their work matters and their growth is supported, and everyone who isn't working here wants to join us.
- For Families: We aim to build a culture grounded in trust, communication, and genuine partnership—so parents feel proud and confident that this is the best place for their child’s education.
Happy Mother's Day
On behalf of all the staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all mums, grandmothers, and those who are like mothers to so many in our community, a very special and happy Mother’s Day for last Sunday. The love and appreciation held for mothers in our lives can be expressed in the simplest ways: an extra long hug, a kind word or gesture, a simple message of appreciation, a drawing of times together with mum. I hope that all the mothers received some extra special treatment last Sunday from their families.
It was so wonderful to see so many mum’s, grandmother’s, and other special women attend our Mother’s Day morning tea on Monday morning. We hope you all enjoyed the opportunity to come in and share in the festivities as well as experiencing a little of what happens in the classrooms each day.
Mother's Day Stall
A big thank you to our hard working Parents’ Association for coordinating our annual Mother’s Day Stall and giving the childen the opportunity to select a special gift for their Mum.
Principal Cuppa & Chat
One of the ways we will try to engage with parents more in 2025 is by holding a series of forums titled “Principal Cuppa & Chat”. These will be held termly and will be an informal way for parents to catch up with school leadership over a cup of tea and coffee to discuss Holy Trinity. There will be no agendas or minutes, and (almost!) any topic is open for discussion. The only protocol of the meetings is that you cannot denigrate any child, any family or member of staff. The hope is that these forums will be a great way for parents to understand the thinking behind school decisions, programs and protocols. The first of these Principal Cuppa & Chats will be on Monday 2nd June @ 9:15am immediately following the flag raising ceremony, please put this date in your diary.
We have a new Pope!
Just after 2am on Friday morning, bells rang out across St Peter’s Square after 133 Cardinals from 70 countries elected a new Pope, Robert Francis Prevost, who will now be known as Pope Leo XIV. Known for his deep commitment to social justice and years of missionary work in Peru, Pope Leo XIV brings a global perspective and a compassionate spirit to his new role. In his first address, he called for peace and unity, inspiring hope for a more inclusive and caring future for the Catholic Church. We look forward with hopeful anticipation to the leadership and vision that Pope Leo XIV will bring to the Catholic Church.
Prep 2026
The Prep 2026 enrolment interviews started this week and it’s a process I look forward to each year. It helps to build a relationship with our incoming Prep students that we will continue to develop and share over the next seven years.
Enrolments Open for 2026
Enrolments for 2026 are currently open! If you have a younger child who turns 5 before 30 April 2026, please come and see Tania, Robyn or Rita in the office for an enrolment pack or click on the button below that will take you directly to the application form. Also, if you know of anyone else in the community with a child the same age, pass on our contact details– we would love to give them a tour of our fabulous school!
School Advisory Council (SAC)
Last Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending my first SAC meeting at Holy Trinity. It was great to meet the team of parents who are members of the SAC for this year. We discussed a number of items on Tuesday, but most of the meeting was centred around a strategic discussion around our schools' marketing strategy and building enrolments lead by Jonathon Samuels. It was a great meeting and we left with a bit of a vision to move forward. I look forward to continuing these discussions in upcoming meetings.
Holy Trinity Cross Country
Congratulations to all of our amazing students who participated in the Holy Trinity Cross Country last Wednesday! It was a fantastic day filled with determination, resilience, and plenty of running. Whether it was 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 laps of our whole school, every student gave it their best and showed great stamina and spirit.
A special mention goes to our Prep students who tackled their very first cross country with big smiles and brave hearts—what a brilliant effort! We also want to acknowledge our Year 3/4 cohort, who ran with courage and determination despite the rain—your perseverance did not go unnoticed.
A huge congratulations to the 60 students listed below who have qualified for the District Cross Country, which will be held this Friday at Knox Athletics Track. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you all the very best for the event!

40th Anniversary
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Holy Trinity! Since our founding in 1985 we have been dedicated to providing excellence in education, fostering a vibrant learning environment, and building a strong and supportive community.
To commemorate this milestone, we have an opportunity to reflect on our rich history while looking ahead to the future. We invite students, parents, and staff to join us in celebrating four decades of learning, growth, and success.
Do you have any old photos or memorabilia that you could share and would be of interest to the community? We would love to share some old photos for everyone to enjoy.

Final Thoughts
I like to close off my section of the newsletter each fortnight with a “Final Thoughts” post.
This is often something that has come across my desk that has piqued my interest during the fortnight that I’d like to share with the community. The one this week is all about jigsaw puzzles and gives another insight into commencing something new whether it be a new year, new job, new school or even a new sporting season. All experiences are like a jigsaw.
Everything I Needed To Know About Life I Learned From A Jigsaw Puzzle
- Don’t force a fit. If something is meant to be, it will come together naturally.
- When things aren’t going so well, take a break. Everything will look different when you return.
- Be sure to look at the big picture. Getting hung up on the little pieces only leads to frustration.
- Perseverance pays off. Every important puzzle went together bit by bit, piece by piece.
- When one spot stops working, move to another. But be sure to come back later (see #4).
- The Creator of the puzzle gave you the picture as a guidebook. Refer to the Creator’s guidebook often.
- Variety is the spice of life. It’s the different colors and patterns that make the puzzle interesting.
- Working together with friends and family makes any task fun.
- Establish the border first. Boundaries give a sense of security and order.
- Don’t be afraid to try different combinations. Some matches are surprising.
- Take time often to celebrate your successes—even little ones.
- Anything worth doing takes time and effort. A great puzzle can’t be rushed.

Joke of the week
Jesus and Satan are arguing over who is better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and God was tired of hearing all of the bickering.
Finally God said, "Cool it. I am going to set up a test that will run two hours and I will judge who does the better job."
So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away. They moused. They did spreadsheets. They wrote reports. They sent faxes. They sent e-mail. They sent out e-mail with attachments. They downloaded. They did some genealogy reports. They made cards. They did every known job. But ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, the rain poured and, of course, the electricity went off.
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld. Jesus just sighed. The electricity finally flickered back on and each of them restarted their computers.
Satan started searching frantically, screaming "It's gone! It's all gone! I lost everything when the power went out!"
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours. Satan observed this and became irate. "Wait! He cheated, how did he do it?"
God shrugged and said, "Jesus saves."
