From the Principal

Dear families,

Last week was Public Education Week and for us that means KROP. Students were beyond amazing in their performance, and I am very proud of each and everyone of them. A big thank you to the band of volunteers that worked in the background to help make this happen. 

We will be celebrating all things ACS in Week 6 with our Book Week parade and morning Tea. Save the date for Wednesday, 26th August where we will have open classrooms as part of the morning activities.

Attendance and Engagement

This week I had a meeting with our Director and Executive Director in relation to attendance and engagement. We have been flagged as having strong attendance in the K-6 space, but not great attendance in the 7-12 space. Please help us in making sure students are attending school on a regular basis, they are on time and that they are ready to focus on learning. If you require support in this area, please reach out to us. 

Extra Curricula Activities

Student feedback in this area celebrates the opportunities that they are given in areas of interest.

They acknowledge that they ‘get to do more’ than other schools which is nice to hear.

We acknowledge that one of the challenges we face as a community is transport and also the impact that travel has on access to events. We are always looking at how we can support students more and know that staffing, fuel costs and distance is a barrier to us saying yes to everything that comes to our attention. 

In saying that this term alone we have sent students to Dubbo twice for camps (Creative Arts and the Wether Challenge), HPGE Visual Arts days, KROP and individual and teams sports. 

Uniform

Keep up the great efforts in turning up to school in full uniform. Remember Oodies and Crocs should be kept at home. 

Year 12

Our 4 students are heading into their trials period, and we wish them the best as they start to head towards the final weeks of their formal schooling journey.
