Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term 4, which promises to be another busy and exciting eleven week's of learning, growth, and community connection at Holy Rosary.

We began the term in wonderful fashion with our Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and Grandparents and Special Friends Day. It was truly special to celebrate Mass together and then share classroom activities with so many grandparents and visitors. These moments highlight the strength of our school and parish community and the importance of faith, family, and friendship in the life of our students.

Our Feast Day celebrations were a wonderful reminder of what makes Holy Rosary such a vibrant and faith-filled community. A big thank you to our Grade 5 students who led the liturgy so beautifully, and to everyone who helped make the morning such a success. We were amazed once again by the number of grandparents and special friends who joined us — your presence makes the day truly memorable for our children.

A special mention to the Lions supporters among us — a well-deserved premiership win! (Though I still can’t help but wonder what might have been...) I hope all families enjoyed some quality time together over the holidays and returned refreshed and ready for the final term of the year.

As the weather begins to warm up, students will be asked to transition into their summer uniform by Week 3 of Term 4. I ask for parents’ support in ensuring that students are wearing the correct uniform — in particular, the correct socks and no brand names. Your cooperation helps maintain a sense of pride and consistency across our school community.

As we begin planning for the 2026 school year, we will soon be working on student placements. If you have specific requests regarding your child’s placement for 2026, please submit these in writing to the Principal by Monday, 21 October. Requests should focus on your child’s particular learning, social, or emotional needs.

While we will do our best to consider all requests received by the due date, it becomes increasingly difficult to make adjustments after this time, as one change can impact the dynamics of an entire class. We also remind families that requests for specific teachers or teacher gender will not be considered. Our teachers invest significant time and professional judgment into this complex process, ensuring that each student is placed in an environment that best supports their learning and wellbeing.

A reminder that our Learning Conversations will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday. These meetings are a valuable part of our assessment and reporting process, offering an opportunity to discuss progress, celebrate achievements, and set future learning goals. We look forward to meeting with families — whether online or in person — to continue strengthening the partnership between home and school.

Term 4 will be full of opportunities for learning, celebration, and reflection as we move toward the end of the school year. We look forward to sharing these moments with you and celebrating the many achievements of our students.
