Term 4 Overview from the Art Room
Another busy term awaits in the Art Room. Students across all year levels will dive deeper into Media Arts this term. Digital art, animation, photography, sound art, film and video, character design and creation and the use of newspapers and magazines for artworks will feature, along with the occasional use of computers, ipads and cameras.
This week’s discussions in class about various forms of animation led us to some really valuable resources on the ACMI website. The Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI) is located in Melbourne’s CBD and a really worthwhile family outing to complement our current focus on the art room. Highly recommend!
Thanks to Danny and Mr Berlingeri, the year 6 graduation piece this year will potentially involve some new panels being installed onto which year 6 students will ‘make their mark’ using spray paint. This complements their work earlier this year around street art.
Future projects to watch this space for, include…
-designing a new painted feature on the treehouse (thanks to SRC for facilitating this)
-designing and painting the gaga pit
-some new initiatives from the art leaders including a lunchtime art club
Towards the end of this term, as tradition goes in the art room, all students will participate in and take home their traditional festive gift for the reindeers!
Donations - If you have any hula hoops at home no longer being used can you please send them to the art room for a future indigenous weaving project.
Looking forward to another busy and productive term with our talented artists at St Pat’s.
Thanks,
Jen Brown
