Basketball CHAMPIONS!

What an incredible achievement for our Newlands boys basketball team! 

Last Monday, the team competed in the Division Finals and came out on top with two outstanding victories. They played with skill, teamwork, and determination, defeating St Joseph’s (Brunswick West) 41–19 and Richmond West 61–11. These results reflect not only their talent but also the effort and dedication they’ve shown throughout the season.

By winning both matches, our team has now qualified for the Northern Metropolitan Regional Finals, which will take place at Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium (1 Tanderrum Way, Broadmeadows) on Tuesday 28 October from 9:45 a.m. We can’t wait to see them represent Newlands once again at the next level of competition.

We are incredibly proud of the whole team – Lenny, Freddie, Paxton, Reuben, Charlie, Darcy and Felix – for their sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive attitude on and off the court.

A huge thank you to the parents who helped with transport, coaching, and scoring on the day. Your ongoing support makes these experiences possible and so special for our students.
