Highlight

Selamat Siang,

In the Inquiry Centre, we’ve been busy learning new skills in both writing and maths!

In writing, students have been learning how to plan their ideas using single-paragraph outlines. This means thinking about what they want to say, then putting their ideas into a simple plan before they start writing a paragraph. It helps them write clearly and stay on topic.

In maths, we’ve been working on adding and subtracting 2-digit and 3-digit numbers. We’ve been using a strategy called partitioning, where we break the numbers into hundreds, tens, and ones to make them easier to work with. We have been using number lines to help us with this. Partitioning helps us understand how numbers work and makes tricky problems easier to solve.

In Guided Inquiry, students have been exploring how technology has changed over time. In the past, people used typewriters, landline phones, and smaller televisions. Today, we use computers, smartphones, and tablets that can do many tasks all at once. These new tools help us learn, communicate, and have fun in different ways. By comparing technology from the past and present, students are discovering how much our world has changed!

Have a great week,

Miss Emmett, Em Glen & Jonny Hobbs, Katrina Chooi, Miss Shaye, Cassie Brisbane & Beth Szentesi
