Three Year Old Kinder News
We have had such a calm and productive week! At the craft table the children have been encouraged to use paper from our scrap paper basket which, being all shapes and sizes, has inspired some very lovely, detailed collage work. It’s so great to see such artistic exploration with the different materials on offer. Deep learning and problem solving has been occurring in the puzzle corner with children returning again and again to this area. And there has been some wonderful imaginary play in the hairdressing corner and with the dinosaurs. Outdoors, the water tub has been an area of extended focus and calming sensory play. The water wheels, combined with jugs and teapots, have been a great way to explore volume and observe cause and effect through play!
Four Year Old Kinder News
Gawarn - This week, we explored the emotions of sadness, love, anger, and calm, and connected each one to a colour from the story “The Colour Monster.” It was wonderful to hear the children share their own experiences and stories about when they have felt these emotions. In the Marram group, the children have been exploring science and have set up an activity to see if we can grow some crystals. The children have been interested in rocks and geology and we are looking forward to exploring this further.
