Year 8 Visit to State Cinema

Friday 26 September

On Friday 26 September Year 8 students and staff will walk to the State Cinema to watch Future Council.

Students need to bring recess as classes are having a break before leaving for the cinema and the canteen will not be open at this time.  Students will not be able to purchase food at the cinema.

Students will return in time for lunch.

Year 7 Camps in Term 4

A reminder to families to ensure Operoo details are up to date before Friday 26 September.

Camp drop-off will be from Bell Street, Queens Walk by 8.30am.

  • Fry and Walker: Monday 13th - Wednesday 15th October
  • Backhouse and Oats: Wednesday 15th - Friday 17th October
  • Mott and Penn: Monday 20th - Wednesday 22nd October

Students are required to bring all their own food for the camp but are unable to bring nuts or foods with nuts due to allergies.  To help with meal planning the Outdoor Education website offers a list of food suggestions.  The link to the website will be in the Operoo.

To ensure staff have the most accurate information on swimming ability and any dietary or health concerns, please ensure Operoo profiles are up to date before the end of Term 3.

An equipment list will be part of the Operoo.  Please contact your child’s Key Teacher or Thomas Van Sant if you have any queries.

Year 8 Gymnastics in Term 4

From Tuesday 28 October, Year 8 students will attend Kingborough Sports Centre during their double PE lesson.

An email will be sent to families at the start of Term 4, advising of the dates for each key class.

We ask that students in Preston and Tuke arrive at school on time on a Tuesday as classes will depart after attendance is taken at 8.35am. Please contact the Middle School Office if you are running late.

Students should pack any required medication and will need a drink bottle and warm clothes.

Absentees

If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Middle School Office (phone: 6210 2235, or email: middleschooloffice@friends.tas.edu.au). We appreciate your support in this process.
