Term 4 Co-curricular Opportunities
We are excited to share with you the Primary School co-curricular opportunities for Term 4, offering a diverse range of activities designed to enrich student learning, build new skills and foster friendships beyond the classroom.
The program includes opportunities in various clubs, sport, music, service, enrichment and more across all year levels —encouraging students to follow their passion and try something new.
View the Term 4 Co-curricular Handbook here.
Please take a moment to browse the handbook together with your child and discuss which activities they might like to join. We encourage students to maintain a balanced approach, with the support of their families, to ensure both classroom activities and co-curricular commitments are manageable and rewarding.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our Co-curricular Co-ordinator Debbie Taylor

Year 6 Places of Worship Excursion
Friday 17 October
To extend and deepen our inquiry into Who we are: Beliefs and Values, Year 6 will walk to the Hobart Synagogue, Scots Memorial Church and the Baha’i Centre of Learning on Friday 17 October. Students will participate in tours of each venue and have opportunities to ask questions about their practices, history and beliefs. We will have lunch and a play at the University Rose Garden en route and walk back to school at the end of the day. Students are to wear school sports uniform including their hat and bring a packed lunch, snack and water bottle. Please apply adequate sunscreen before school and pack a raincoat as required.
If a parent would like to support this excursion, please contact your child’s teacher. This is the first in a series of excursions and parent participation is appreciated. Our volunteers require a current Working With Vulnerable People card and must be registered as a volunteer with the School. You can find the School’s volunteer registration form at this link.
Year 5 - Unit of Inquiry - How the World Works
At the beginning of Term 4, Year 5 students will continue their scientific investigations within the unit How the World Works. This inquiry will focus on developing students’ scientific skills by exploring a natural phenomenon. Students will build their questioning and research skills before drawing conclusions about their findings and considering how best to share their learning with others. Over the past term, students have been introduced to a range of natural phenomena. To support their learning, we encourage you to talk with your child about which specific phenomenon captures their interest, so they are ready to begin their investigations promptly at the start of Term 4. This inquiry may culminate in opportunities for students to share their work with parents and other year levels. Dates for this sharing will be confirmed early in Term 4.

They should bring their lunch and snacks; there will be no lunch orders on the day. The children should also bring a full water bottle. Please update student Operoo profiles before the excursion.

Year 3 - Outdoor Education Excursion and Sleepover
Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October (Early finish Friday - 1.45pm)
The Year 3 School Sleepover will take place from Thursday 30 until Friday 31 October in The Farrall Centre at school. On Thursday morning students are to meet in classrooms with their bags and bedding, before they depart school at 9.00am to participate in an Outdoor Education day, exploring the beautiful coastline along the Alum Cliffs and Kingston Beach. This excursion is an opportunity for students to engage with their surroundings and learn valuable lessons about responsibility and the natural world. We'll be walking the Alum Cliffs track as a year group, with students arriving at Kingston Beach for lunch and some fun time on the sand. The day is designed to foster active citizenship and a sense of responsibility through activities like walking together as a group, practicing Leave No Trace principles and learning to be prepared for the outdoors. We'll also be exploring the natural and human-made systems we encounter, including local geology, ecology and history, connecting directly to the How the World Works curriculum.
Students will need to wear appropriate free dress clothing for all weather conditions and sturdy shoes for walking. This should include a warm jumper (wool, polar fleece or puffer jacket), sunhat, sunscreen and a waterproof raincoat, lunch, snacks and a water bottle. All of this equipment will need to be packed into a day backpack or their school backpack.
We will return to school by bus at 4.00pm. Back on campus we will make preparations for the overnight setup and enjoy a lovely community dinner before sleeping overnight in The Farrall Centre Auditorium. An afternoon snack and dinner will be provided for students on Thursday and breakfast and lunch the following day. Students should bring their school uniform to change into on Friday morning.
On Friday 31 October, Year 3 students will be participating in a number of activities, including a Race Around the World activity at school. Detailed information about the sleepover, including a packing list will be provided to parents in the Operoo permission form, which should be completed by Friday 17 October. If you have any questions please contact your child’s class teacher: Lis or Nathan. Students may be collected on Friday afternoon from 1.45pm from their classrooms, if possible.
