Wellbeing

From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account.

The restrictions aim to protect young Australians from pressures and risks that users can be exposed to while logged in to social media accounts. These come from design features that encourage them to spend more time on screens, while also serving up content that can harm their health and wellbeing.

The eSafety Commissioner has  launched the following resources to support parents and carers and young people  with these changes.

Inspired Education Events

We wanted to share an opportunity for Year 10 and 11 families to help prepare for the HSC.

InspirationED, in partnership with leading universities are running free seminars during November that are designed to help both parents and students understand what’s ahead:

  • Macquarie University - Sunday 2nd November
  • University of Newcastle - Saturday 15th November
  • University of Sydney - Sunday 23rd November

Now in its 10th year, this session brings together senior HSC markers and counsellors to share insights on:

  • What exam markers look for in high-scoring responses
  • How to manage motivation and stress throughout Year 12
  • Ways parents can best support their child’s learning and wellbeing

These events have consistently received outstanding feedback from parents and students who walk away feeling more confident and prepared for the year ahead.
