Year 11 Awards Ceremony – A Celebration of Achievement

As we approach the end of the academic year, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students at the upcoming Year 11 Awards Ceremony, to be held on Thursday, 30th October.

Invitations have been sent to families of students who will be receiving awards on the day. This communication serves as confirmation that your child will be recognised for their efforts and accomplishments throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming parents and caregivers to join us in acknowledging the dedication and hard work of our students as they reach this important milestone in their educational journey.

Following the ceremony, it is essential that students remain at school and attend their scheduled classes. These lessons are a vital part of their learning program and mark the beginning of their Year 12 journey. Having recently returned from their Year 12 Retreat in Week 2, students are encouraged to continue building on the focus, connection, and reflection they developed during that time. Early consistency and engagement in class will set a strong foundation for their HSC year ahead.

We look forward to celebrating with our parents, caregivers, and students as we come together to recognise the achievements of our Year 11 cohort and to support them as they step confidently into their final year of schooling.

Bus Etiquette and Student Responsibility

As a College community, we take pride in the way our students represent Caroline Chisholm College both on and off school grounds. One area where this is especially important is while travelling on school and public buses.

We remind all students of the need to demonstrate appropriate bus etiquette at all times — showing courtesy to the driver, speaking respectfully to others, remaining seated during the journey, and being mindful of other passengers. Students must also ensure they carry and tap on with their Opal card each day, as this is a Transport for NSW requirement and helps maintain accurate travel records.

We have noticed some concerns particularly relating to students boarding the first 797 bus on Thursdays. This bus is primarily allocated as a school bus to ensure that students can travel home safely. While it is an additional privilege for students who are attending afternoon sport or workplace commitments to access this bus, it is essential that this privilege is respected.

Any student who does not follow correct procedures — including attempting to board the bus at locations prior to its arrival at Caroline Chisholm College, or displaying disrespectful behaviour while travelling — will have their red dot privilege removed. This ensures that the bus remains available first and foremost for those who rely on it to get home.

We ask all parents and caregivers to please reinforce the importance of respectful behaviour and responsibility with their daughters. Together, we can ensure that all students travel safely, respectfully, and in the spirit of our College values.
